LOVE GOD - LOVE PEOPLE

January 8 - 28, 2024

Every January, we set aside 21 days to fast and pray for breakthrough in our families, church, city, and nation. Intentional Bible reading and specific fasting aligns us with God’s heart, allowing us to hear Him clearly and respond to His will in obedience. Join us as we seek God in prayer and believe for Him to move in powerful ways.

Fervent and Effective Prayer

Prayer is most effective when it isn’t something we just do every now and then, but when it’s a lifestyle we cultivate.

To develop a lifestyle of prayer, we recommend having a dedicated time, a dedicate place, and a dedicated plan that you stick with daily. Ask the Lord to show you areas to target during your time of fasting and prayer. We believe that, as we pray and seek God and give Him our best at the first of the year, He will bless our entire year (Matthew 6:33)!
“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
James 5:16b
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Matthew 6:33
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6-7

What is Fasting?

When you fast, you partner with God. He desires to have a divine partnership with you in the area of fasting and prayer for your family, your life, and His purpose in the earth!

There’s a connection between what we do physically and what God releases spiritually in the Bible. Exodus 17 tells the story of Moses holding up his hands with a staff. As long as his hands were extended, the battle was won against the enemies of Israel. When Moses’ arms started getting weary, the battle would start to turn as his arms would let down and Israel’s enemies would begin to prevail.

This story tells us that there are times when what we do physically affects our circumstances, the battle and the victory spiritually. Fasting is perhaps the most powerful physical action a Christian can take to show God how sincere you are about wanting to see change.

Why should I fast?

Are you in need of healing or a miracle?

Do you need the tender touch of God in your life?

Is there a dream inside you that only He can make possible?

Are you in need of a fresh encounter?

Do you desire a deeper, more intimate and powerful relationship with the Lord?

Are you ready to have heightened sensitivity to the desires of God?

Do you need to break away from bondages that have been holding you hostage?

Is there a friend or loved one that needs Salvation?
Do you desire to know God’s will for your life?

Selective Fast

This type of fast involves removing certain elements from your diet. One example of a selective fast is the Daniel Fast, during which you remove meat, sweets, and bread from your diet and consume water and juice for fluids and fruits and vegetables for food.

Partial Fast

This fast involves abstaining from eating any type of food in the morning and afternoon. This can either correlate to specific times of the day, such as 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, or from sunup to sundown.

Soul Fast

This fast is a great option if you do not have much experience fasting food, have health issues that prevent you from fasting food, or if you wish to refocus certain areas of your life that are out of balance.
For example, you might choose to stop using social media or watching television for the duration of the fast and then carefully reintroduce that element back into your life at the conclusion of the fast.
