LOVE GOD - LOVE PEOPLE

OUR BELIEFS

The following are the core beliefs of The House based on the foundational truths taught in the bible.  All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical truths.

The Church

EPHESIANS 1:22, 2:19-22; HEBREWS 12:23; JOHN 17:11, 20-23

The church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus’ great commission. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bible

2 TIMOTHY 3:16; 2 PETER 1:20-21; PROVERBS 30:5; ROMANS 16:25-26

The Bible is the Word of God, inspired by God, and written by holy men of God. It is Gods plan for humanity and the only true foundation for life.

The Trinity

JOHN 14:21-26; I JOHN 5:7; GENESIS 1:26; MATTHEW 3:16-17, 28:19; LUKE 1:35; ISAIAH 9:6; HEBREWS 3:7-11

There is only one true God who exists in three distinct equal parts: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
(Commonly known as the TRINITY)

Jesus Christ

JOHN 1:1,14, 20:28; I TIMOTHY 3:16; ISAIAH 9:6; PHILIPPIANS 2:5-6; I TIMOTHY 2:5

Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was 100% God and 100% man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind and thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory.

Salvation

EPHESIANS 2:8-9; GALATIANS 2:16, 3:8; TITUS 3:5; ROMANS 10:9-10; ACTS 16:31; HEBREWS 9:22

Jesus Christ (the Son of God) is the only way to heaven. He gave His life and shed His blood on the cross to redeem and restore man to God. Salvation cannot be earned by good works, but is Gods free gift to those who repent of their sins, and put their faith in Jesus Christ.

Repentance

ACTS 2:21, 3:19; I JOHN 1:9

Repentance is the commitment to turn away from sin in every area of our lives and to follow Christ. Through repentance we receive forgiveness of sins and appropriate salvation

Sanctification

I THESSALONIANS 4:3, 5:23; 2 CORINTHIANS 3:18, 6:14-18, 2 THESSALONIANS 2:1-3, ROMANS 8:29, 12:1-2, HEBREWS 2:11

We believe in the teaching of sanctification as a definite but continuous work of grace beginning at the time of being born again and continuing until the completion of this life.

Repentance

ACTS 2:21, 3:19; I JOHN 1:9

Repentance is the commitment to turn away from sin in every area of our lives and to follow Christ. Through repentance we receive forgiveness of sins and appropriate salvation

Eternal Life & Being Born Again

2 CORINTHIANS 7:10; JOHN 3:3-5

Jesus Christ came to earth, died, and rose from the grave so that we might live an abundant life here on earth and then live eternally in heaven after we leave our earthly bodies. Being born again is available to all of those who accept Jesus Christ as Savior, salvation takes place, and his spirit becomes eternally alive to God.

Water Baptism

ROMANS 6:4; COLOSSIANS 2:12; ACTS 8:36-39

Baptism is a commandment of God for believers only and is by immersion in water that Christian’s identify with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.

The Gifts of The Holy Spirit

HEBREWS 2:4; ROMANS 1:11,12:4-8; EPHESIANS 4:16; 2 TIMOTHY 1:5-16, 4:14; I CORINTHIANS 12:1-31, 14:1-40; I PETER 4:10

The Holy Spirit is manifested through a variety of spiritual gifts to build and sanctify the church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection, and confirm the power of the Gospel. The Bible lists of these gifts are not necessarily exhaustive, and the gifts may occur in various combinations. All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives. These gifts always operate in harmony with the Scriptures and should never be used in violation of biblical parameters.

Baptism in The Holy Spirit

JOEL 2:28-29; MATTHEW 3:11; MARK 16:17; ACTS 1:5,2:1-4, 17, 38-39, 8:14-17, 10:38, 44-47, 11:15-17, 19:1-6

Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift from God promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to believers and is received after receiving salvation and being born again. This experience is accompanied by the evidence of speaking in tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance.

Divine Healing

PSALM 103:2-3; ISAIAH 53:5; MATTHEW 8:16-17; MARK 16:17-18; ACTS 8:6-7; JAMES 5:14-16;
I CORINTHIANS 12:9, 28; ROMANS 11:29

Divine Healing is for the physical ills of the human body and is brought about by the power of God through prayer and by the laying on of hands. It is provided for in the redemptive life and death of Christ, and is the privilege of every believer today.

Resurrection of the Just & The Return of our Lord

LUKE 24:16, 36, 39; JOHN 2:19-21, 20:26-28, 21:4; ACTS 24:15; I CORINTHIANS 15:42, 44;
PHILIPPIANS 1:21-23, 3:21; REVELATION 19:16; REVELATION 20:6

The return of our Lord approaching and when He comes, “the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air” (1 Thessalonians 4:16,17). After the Tribulation, God will return to earth, as KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS, and together with His saints, who will be kings and priests, He will reign a thousand years.

Heaven

MATTHEW 5:3, 12, 20, 6:20, 19:21, 25:34; JOHN 17:24; 2 CORINTHIANS 5:1; HEBREWS 11:16; I PETER 1:4
Heaven is the eternal dwelling place for all believers in the Gospel of Jesus Christ

Hell

MATTHEW 25:41; MARK 9:43-48; HEBREWS 9:27; REVELATION 14:9-11, 20:12-15, 21:8

After living a life as an unbeliever he/she will be judged by God and sent to Hell where they will be eternally tormented with the Devil and the Fallen Angels

The Second Coming

MATTHEW 24:30, 26:63-64; ACTS 1:9-11; I THESSALONIANS 4:15-17;
2 THESSALONIANS 1:7-8; REVELATION 1:7

Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His Kingdom. This will occur at a date undisclosed by the Scriptures.
